Details

Playful, bold, and wonderfully expansive — the Wild Grass Safari Grand Kantha Throw is designed to be the centerpiece of any room. Handcrafted from soft cotton, this spirited quilt features a vibrant green landscape where golden leopards prowl amidst delicate white botanical vines. It's a design that refuses to be ignored, bringing a burst of wild energy and color to your home.

Designed on a grand scale, this piece offers incredible coverage. And when you're ready for a quieter mood, simply flip it over to reveal a warm, solid terracotta green side, beautifully textured with classic white running stitches. It's two distinct looks in one massive, versatile layer.

Use it as a bohemian throw blanket over your sofa, a bold bed cover, or a statement cotton throw for couch evenings. Handcrafted in small batches by artisans in India — no two are ever the same.

Materials + Care

100% genuine cotton

Wash separately before first use. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softener. Air dry or tumble dry low.

For the best longevity and to preserve the fabric’s beautiful texture, professional dry cleaning is recommended.

A note on Kantha: Kantha is made by hand from layers of textiles. Loose or uneven stitches, small thread tails, slight puckering, and variations in texture are natural parts of the process and are not defects. Do not pull loose threads; trim them carefully if needed.

Printed Cotton Quilted By Hand

Every printed kantha throw starts as a length of plain cotton run through a Rajasthan print workshop, a pattern laid down either by a carved wooden block or a fine mesh screen, depending on the design. The cloth is dyed, dried in the sun, washed, and dried again until the colour is settled and the hand is soft.

Then a quilter takes over, and the Kantha running stitch begins which is worked across the entire surface, holding the two layers together from one edge to the other. It is a slow process. The finished throw has hundreds of individual stitches in it, none of them mechanical.

What you end up with is a cotton throw that is light enough to fold into a bag, warm enough to sleep under, and printed well enough to leave draped over a sofa without a second thought. It is the most versatile thing we make.

"Printed in Rajasthan, quilted by hand. Two layers of cotton held together by a running stitch that has no beginning and no end — just a maker who kept going until the cloth was done."
