Details
Heritage-rich and carefully made — the Deep Indigo Handmade Applique Kantha Queen Bedspread brings the quiet beauty of traditional Kantha craftsmanship into the bedroom. Built from layers of soft cotton and finished with rhythmic hand-running stitches, this Queen bedspread is a textile of patience, texture, and everyday comfort.
Kantha is defined by its simple, continuous running stitch: row after row, the needle draws the layers together and gives the fabric its gentle crinkle and relaxed drape. The stitching is practical as well as beautiful, creating a breathable bedspread with a soft, lightly quilted feel rather than the weight or bulk of a padded comforter. Each piece is made by hand, so the stitch lines, surface texture, and small variations in colour carry the unmistakable character of the artisan who made it.

Materials + Care
100% genuine cotton
Wash separately before first use. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softener. Air dry or tumble dry low.
For the best longevity and to preserve the fabric’s beautiful texture, professional dry cleaning is recommended.
A note on Kantha: Kantha is made by hand from layers of textiles. Loose or uneven stitches, small thread tails, slight puckering, and variations in texture are natural parts of the process and are not defects. Do not pull loose threads; trim them carefully if needed.

The Bedspread Texture Guide
Feel Before You Choose
At The Kokum Tree, our bedspreads are handcrafted using centuries-old textile traditions across Rajasthan, Bengal, and Gujarat. Each type is distinct — not just in pattern, but in how it feels under your hands and against your skin. Kantha running stitches create soft, quilted warmth. Patola silk-cotton weaves bring richness and structure. Hand block print cotton offers a crisp, earthy character. Before you choose a colour, choose a feel.
Different bedspreads, different techniques, and different experiences. Each is made by hand — stitched, printed by hand. The softness meter on each card is our honest guide to what you will feel when you bring a piece your home.
