Details
Each Lady Fern Appliqué Pure Cotton Wall Hanging is made by hand — stitched by artisans who've been doing this their whole lives, and learned it from people who did the same.
The appliqué comes together slowly, layer by layer, across soft cotton that's been worn in by use and time. The colours are earthy, understated. Nothing announces itself.
It hangs well above a headboard or in a hallway. It works as a focal point without trying to be one. Wherever it ends up, it tends to make a room feel a little quieter, a little more like home.

Cut from Cloth, Stitched into a Scene
Appliqué is one of the oldest fabric techniques in India — and one of the most straightforward to understand. Smaller pieces of coloured cotton are cut into shapes and stitched onto a larger base cloth to build up a picture. Elephants, figures, camels, florals. The image is constructed patch by patch, each piece sewn down by hand until the whole composition holds together.
In Rajasthan, appliqué has long been used for ceremonial textiles — tent panels, canopies, and processional pieces where bold motifs needed to read from a distance. That scale and confidence carries into the wall hangings.
The base is cotton. The patches are cotton. Everything is cut and stitched by hand in Rajasthan — each piece its own composition, often not repeated.
The technique is simple enough to explain in a sentence. The execution — cutting, placing, and stitching every patch of colour by hand — is another matter entirely.
